Arcadian Forge offers a basic course and advanced modules. Tuition is offered on a one-to-one basis although you can bring a friend or your partner for support.
The basic course is geared towards beginners and runs for a whole day. During the course you will cover aspects of: workplace safety, the anvil, the forge, blacksmithing tools, basic metallurgy (iron and alloy steels), quenching, drawing out, creating points, cutting techniques, twisting and bending and introductory scroll work. Participants will be encouraged to complete a decorative item such a fire poker. The basic course is a pre-requisite for the advanced modules.
Advanced modules run for a day and each one covers: decorative scrolls, forge welding, tong manufacture, architectural and decorative forgings.
